Description:

Within the therapeutic relationship in play therapy exists a powerful opportunity for clinicians to support child clients and their caregivers in experientially learning how to identify emotional and nervous system reactivity, to develop creative problem solving, resiliency, self-regulation, and grow in their self-esteem. Play therapy offers children and their caregivers a chance to experience a reduction in stress response and to cultivate emotional wellbeing. This three-hour live and interactive webinar material is rooted in seminal and historical play therapy theories (Adlerian, Child-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Developmental, Ecosystemic Gestalt, and Jungian) will offer participants knowledge about the neurobiology of emotions and nervous system reactions and effective ways to support children and their caregivers through the therapeutic powers of play and mindfulness-based practices for reducing stress responses and experiencing co-regulation and regulation.

.5 Hour Historical and Seminal Theories; 1 Hour Special Topics; 1.5 Hours Skills and Methods
